Melanie Maslin is an Australian with a 30yr lifetime of work in the Arts and Early Learning. A qualified Early Childhood Teacher, (Grad Dip ECT UniMelb 2021) and professional musician of over 20 years, Mel is the Founder and Managing Director of the Australian BabyLoveMusicFun and BLMFOnDemand Programs. As far as we’re aware, Mel has developed the only Australian Early Childhood Music Learning Program to be exported successfully into Asia.

Mel’s professional singing career including winning Australian Competitions and moving to Europe to further singing, languages and music development with World’s Best Vocal Practice institutions. Returning to Australia in 2001 to be married and start a Family, Mel began a career working within Arts and Education Organisations including VCA and 5 yrs at the innovative Australian Centre of the Moving Image (ACMI). Concurrent to this period, Mel wrote, created and delivered successful all Women Fringe Festival show and began working on the 1st iterations of a new Early Childhood Music Learning Program for babies. In 2006 Mel’s lifelong passions converged to officially create the business BabyLoveMusicFun.

Her skills and knowledges are unique and continuing - Queensland Conservatorium of Music with First Class Honours; Opera Australia; International Awards (Geneva International Music); Qualifications in Drama (ATCL, ASDA) and Dance (RAD); Masters in Music Research from Monash University; highly educated in neuro-musical research and an accredited Bigger Better Brains Educator and 2021 graduate of Early Childhood Teaching from University of Melbourne Graduate school.

Between 2006 and 2021, in her role as Founder and Lead Instructor, Mel incorporated the latest early learning development and neuroscience into BabyLoveMusicFun where she teaches music and development to parents, babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers throughout Australia and Asia and since 2022 at the University of Melbourne ELC in Abbotsford.

Following licences in Malaysia in 2009 and Singapore in 2013, in 2016 BabyLoveMusicFun was selected by the top Early Learning Centres in China over other International Programs, to be rolled out across China over a 3 year period from 2016-2019. Mel’s Program is now delivered to 1.5m Chinese children p/a!

Mel is an amazing Mother to 2 teenage daughters and a wonderful wife.

A message from Melanie...

I love singing and teaching children and sharing my love of music with them and their carers. If you know me you will know that I can find a song in anything. Music is just how my brain works. Thank you for your interest in the Baby Love Music Fun program and the benefits of music in early childhood development. In over 13 years of teaching music to babies and the adults who love them I have witnessed some truly wonderful moments and made some lasting bonds with families that make this an experience not a job. I have seen and enjoy teaching others to see the true magic of music and it's powerful connection with babies and children. Research has found evidence that music benefits the wiring of the brain, language and speech development and social development and that the period of 0-3 years is an especially important time in your baby's development. Getting to know your baby and setting the foundation of the bond that will last a lifetime can also be aided by the use of music in everyday routines, settling and creative fun and developmental play. Personally as a mother and from my experiences in classrooms over the last 13 years and to know what I've witnessed is also backed by research I'm confident in the benefits to children of my music program and I look forward to sharing my creative ideas, activities and more musical fun in the future with as many lucky babies and their adults as possible.
